The Steven C. Walker Golf Scholarship is available to all Alamance County high school graduating seniors who are members of a golf team at a high school in Alamance County. This scholarship was established to carry on the memory and legacy of Steve Walker, a charismatic and accomplished golfer who grew up in Alamance County. He played golf at Wake Forest University from 1969-1972 and then returned to his hometown as an adult. As co-owner and operator of the Shamrock Golf Club, he established the annual Parent-Child Tournament to promote junior golf in Alamance County. Steve was deeply committed to bringing families together on the golf course and investing time in helping junior golfers to improve their games.
